Frank Hahne Sr2

Frank Hahne Sr. founded the DuBois Brewery in the 1890’s. He was born in Germany and immigrated to the United States and was employed in a brewery located in Milwaukee. Hahne moved to DuBois to start the brewery because of the abundance of quality water. DuBois Brewing Company most famous beer was DuBois Budweiser. Anheuser-Busch filed suit against the DuBois Brewery. The legal issues lasted for years with DuBois Brewing Company prevailing. In 1967 the DuBois Brewing Company was sold to Pittsburgh Brewing Company and sadly within years after the sale the proud tradition of brewing ended in DuBois.
